The Kingdom Chronicles – Episode #3 – Jono & Ross

In episode three, Jono & Ross finally arrive at Deuteronomy 17:14-20, the Torah of the King. Why didn’t they begin with this passage in episode 1? In fact, why didn’t anybody mention this passage within the appointment of Abimelech in Judges 9:6 or the demand for a king in 1 Sam 8:5? Moreover, how is it that the Torah of the King seemingly quotes from the people’s demand for a king like the nations? Find out in this intriguing episode!

Morning, I would like to know the name of a great study tanakh with complete commentary. I have looked high and wide for one. I do have a copy of Tanakh new English JPS translation when I follow along with a Rabbi mine reads differently. So I’m guessing it’s because it’s a new English. Just like they made a new King James Version . I would like to have original text English.
Maybe you sell one? Its the commentary I’d like to have so I can better understand the sitting in which they are in.
I live in Ottawa Ontario Canada and I can’t find a tanakh anywhere.

Hi Erlla, I use many. Ross highly recommends the Koren Jerusalem Bible as a prefered translation. I have recently purchased one and am liking it a lot. We also make use of the Jewish Study Bible. It’s very much the scholarly companion. The Artscroll Tanakh is more of a dynamic Rabbinic translation with commentary reflecting the Rabbinic sages.
