Where & How is the Book of Jasher Injected into the Tanakh?

Where is the Book of Jasher quoted in the Bible? How is it that we have verses from sources in our Scriptures but no longer have these books? This week, Ross and Jono discuss a question sent in by Richard Tescher. The discussion addresses the main question sent in by our listener but then takes the topic further. Does the Book of Jasher still exist? Was Jasher a person? How do we know for sure that the Book of Jasher brought forward in the 18th century is a literary forgery? What about the midrashic, Sefer HaYashar? Is this the source for the Biblical quotes? The conversation also covers several other sources mentioned in the Bible that we no longer have. As for Sefer Hayashar, I would note that the work\midrash that is existent today with that title, is not the same sefer Hayashar taht is mentioned in the Tanach which has been lost and is no longer existent.
